What are ElderShield Supplements?

ElderShield Supplements provide optional additional coverage, on top of the ElderShield product at additional premiums. This means you can tailor your protection coverage to suit your individual needs.

With MyCare, you have the flexibility to choose your:
(i) Monthly benefit amount (up to $2,000/month),
(ii) Payout duration (up to lifetime), and
(iii) Premium payment term (as short as until age 67 next birthday).

This way, you get a plan that is uniquely yours, catering to your individual needs and financial capabilities.

Why do I need a Supplement?

While your ElderShield policy provides a basic level of protection against severe disability, you might not find it sufficient to meet your needs.

MyCare provides higher monthly benefits (up to $2,000/mth, inclusive of your basic ElderShield benefit) for a longer period of time (up to lifetime). With the rising costs of living and longer lifespan Singaporeans are experiencing, having better coverage is essential to ensure your future is protected.

Am I eligible to take up MyCare?

To ensure that Singaporeans have at least a basic severe disability plan, a policyholder purchasing an ElderShield Supplement must first be covered under an ElderShield policy.

You can take up MyCare regardless of who your basic ElderShield policy insurer is.

Why should I join now?

Like the basic ElderShield policy, MyCare's premiums are determined at the age of entry and do not increase with age. By joining early, you can enjoy all the higher benefits of MyCare at a lower premium.

If I am still in the old ElderShield plan (benefit of $300/mth for up to 5 years), do I need to upgrade in order to buy the Supplementary Plan?

No. You can purchase MyCare as long as you have an in-force ElderShield policy.

What will happen to my MyCare policy if I terminate my basic ElderShield policy?

To ensure that Singaporeans have at least a basic severe disability plan, a policyholder purchasing an ElderShield Supplement must first be covered under an ElderShield policy. As such, if you terminate your basic ElderShield policy, your MyCare policy will also be terminated.

What will happen to my MyCare policy if my basic ElderShield policy benefits have been fully paid?

Your MyCare policy will continue to provide severe disability benefits for life or up to 144 months of benefit payout duration, even after your basic ElderShield policy benefit has been fully paid.
